Thomas Jodie Bean was born on March 24, 1947 in Lincoln County, Tennessee. He left this earthly life on Friday, June 20, 2025.

Thomas attended Highview Elementary School in Lynchburg, Tennessee and graduated from Westend High School in Fayetteville, Tennessee. Shortly after graduating, without the knowledge of his parents, he enlisted in the United States Marine Core. He served 4 years in the Marine Core and during that time, he fought in the Vietnam War for a little over a year.

Upon Thomas’ return, he worked at Samsonite for a few years and finished his career at the VA in Murfreesboro, Tennessee for over 15 years.

Thomas was a simple man, but found joy in a few things; he loved to wake up on Saturday mornings listening to the blues, his wife Margaret and him loved to travel, and he really enjoyed eating food that he was not suppose to eat. Thomas enjoyed family gatherings and attending church services and singing.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Hampton Bean; son, Thomas Mandrel Bean, Sr.; parents, Fred Bean and Annie Cannon Bean; sisters, Anne Bailey, Nan Trollinger and Melody Dalton; and brothers, Fred Bean, Jr. and Bobby Bean.

Thomas leaves to cherish his loving memories, daughter, Tami Stark; son, Thomas Jodie Bean, Jr. of Denver, Colorado; sister, Mary Wright; brothers, Jerry (Rita) Bean and Stanley Bean; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; special friends, Bobbie and JoAnn Gaunt, Greg and Connie Daniels, Bro. & Sis. Demetrius Desnoes, Joe & Venus Sneed, Glen Johnson, Doug McCroskey, Ell Biggers, Diane Holliman, Sandra Kenton, Randy Cousin; Steven Whitaker and wife, Chris Whitaker and wife, Mary Wade, Ella Sabastian, Bonnie Brooks, Bro. & Sis. Albert Nelson and Family; and a host of other relatives and friends.
