Ola B. Jordan Rucker was born May 30, 1928. She was the daughter of Sam Wyatt Jordan Sr. and Jennie Williamson Jordan.

Ola attended Quinn's Chapel and Cole Elementary in Rutherford County. She graduated from Holloway High school and attended Tennessee State University.

At an early age, Ola joined Quinn's Chapel AME church and then joined Patterson Memorial after moving to the Woodbine community. She was a faithful member and served on many committees.

Ola was employed in the office of admissions and records at Tennessee State University for a number of years. Ola became an employee of Bridgestone Firestone and worked there until retirement.

After retirement, she served as a volunteer with the Red Cross, Salvation Army, the Public Library and Southern Hills Hospital.

Ola was married to the late Robert William Rucker, to this union five children were born. She leaves to cherish her memory, a loving and devoted family. Sons, William Andre and Gary Wayne (Karen), daughters Mary Jane Bryant, Deborah Lexene Rucker and JoAnn Johnson (John). sixteen grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephew, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
