Sarah Elizabeth Liggett entered her heavenly rest in the arms of God on January 17, 2021 at Glen Oaks Nursing Home in Shelbyville, Tennessee after a brief setback with Covid-19.

She was born May 4, 1927 in Petersburg, Tennessee, the youngest daughter of Julius and Cassie Davidson Fishback. She is preceded in death by brothers Charles, Raymond, Woodrow, and James Fishback and sisters Ruth Gaunt, Pearline Buchanan, Katherine Knott, Georgia Dangerfield and Ethel Fishback.

At an early age she professed her faith in Christ and attended the Church of Christ in Richmond, Tennessee. She graduated from Bedford County Training School. Sarah married Riley Liggett and made their home in Ohio for many years. No children were born to this union but she had a great devotion and love for the nieces and nephews of her siblings. Upon his death, Sarah returned to Shelbyville, Tennessee and attended Bird Street Church of Christ until failing health placed her at Glen Oaks Nursing Home. Every opportunity that Bird Street Church of Christ visited Glen Oaks, if able, Sarah participated in the worship and singing services.

Sarah is survived by devoted sister-in-law, Nancy Fishback and nephew Ron Fishback, sister-in-law Mattie Fishback, a host of cousins, nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews, the staff of friends who cared for her at Glen Oaks and the Bird Street Church of Christ family.
