Mrs. Sara McCroskey entered this life on January 24, 1942 to the late General Hardin and Gertrude (Henry) Stafford. After a long illness, she was called home on September 11, 2017. She obeyed the gospel at an early age. She was a member of the Bird Street Church of Christ in Shelbyville, TN.

Sara McCroskey was loved dearly. She was a loving wife, sister, daughter, aunt and friend. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, spending time with her family and friends and helping others. She will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents General Hardin and Gertrude (Henry Stafford), sister Ethel (the late Charles) Robertson and Catherine (Gregory) Yeargins, nephew Brian Yeargins, niece Heaven Rendon, mother in law Jodie McCroskey, father in law Willie McCroskey, brothers in law James McCroskey, Clemons McCroskey, Joe Willie McCroskey and sisters in law, Margaret Johnson, Aileen McCroskey and Ethel McCroskey.

She leaves to mourn and cherish her memories, her devoted husband Howard McCroskey, her devoted son Michael (Keri) Hardin and special nephew Landon Hardin, sisters Elizabeth (the late Preston) Dalton, Mattie (Joe) Peacock and Martha Cooper, brother James Hardin, brother in law Thomas E. McCroskey, a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
