Rita Samantha Dunnaway, was born on January 15, 1966 to the late Hollis and Sallie Bell Dunnaway. She transitioned from this earthly life on November 10, 2017 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital.

She received her education in Murfreesboro City Schools of Rutherford County and she graduated from Riverdale High School in 1984.

Rita professed a hope in Christ at an early age at Bethel M.B. Church. Later, she united with Israelite Primitive Baptist Church under the pastorate leadership of Elder Buford Taylor. She often visited Smyrna Missionary Baptist Church with her siblings.

She was employed by Krystal for many years. She was a big fan of gospel quartet singing and she was a former member of True Spirit Gospel Group.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Anthony, William and Garry Dunnaway; sister, Evangelist Sherry Dunnaway; granddaughter, Ke’Zaria Henry; maternal grandparents, Paul and Elizabeth Malone; paternal grandparents, William Thomas and Myra Dunnaway; niece, LaQuinta Dunnaway; step-mother, Bessie Dunnaway.

Rita leaves to cherish her precious memories five daughters, LaKeendra, LaKeenta, LaKeiya, Stephanie and Shajuan Henry; one son, LaTavus Henry; seven grandchildren; one sister, Miranda Henry Hailey; one brother, Ricky Dunnaway; one devoted aunt, Mary Ruth Patterson; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
