Mrs. Ocydean Freeman Richardson was born on December 24, 1934 in Rutherford County to the late Newman and Sarah Freeman. She departed this life on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Northside Healthcare in Murfreesboro, TN.  She accepted Christ at an early age where she served the Lord tirelessly; she was a faithful member of Webb Grove AME Church.  She was preceded in death by her son, James Freeman; husband, Branard Richardson; brothers, L.C., Thomas and John Freeman; sister, Marjorie Beard.

After countless years of working at Chromalox, she retired to continue pursuing her true passion of cooking and feeding the community, as well as preparing meals for the Lions Club. Her home was always open to anyone in need of a hot meal or encouraging words with warm affection. Her unwavering love for her family and church family will be forever missed. The heart felt deeds she shared with everyone she came in contact with will be her lasting legacy. Her bright smile, sharp demeanor and stylish hats complimented her personality with poise and grace. To know Ocydean was to love her and she will be missed deeply by everyone who loved and knew her.

She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters, Marjorie Webb and Tracey (Timothy) Spivey; daughter in law, Freda Freeman; two brothers, Collier (Mary) Freeman and Jesse Freeman; three sisters, Shellie North, Viola Malone and Cornelia Cooper; sisters in law, Dora Freeman and Mildred Spann; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, family, church members and friends; devoted friends, Mr. Leroy Wade and Ms. Anna Gregory.
