Mary Lucindia (Mary C.) Ewing Rippy was born on January 29, 1934 to the late John A. and Leara S. Gant Ewing in Flat Creek, TN. She departed this life on May 24, 2015. She accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and was a faithful member at the Richmond Church of Christ then Bird St. Church of Christ until her health failed her.

Mary C. was married to the late Alvin G. Rippy for 52 years and to this union four girls were born. She attended school at Flat Creek, then went on to attend Bedford County Training School and A&I University. She retired from American Can Co. after 33 years. Mother was a very special person who never met a stranger and would do anything for anybody.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband; three brothers, baby brother, John W. Ewing, Clarence Ewing; two sisters, Clestine Greer Johnson and Mala B. Ewing Peacock; and granddaughter Jazmine M. Rippy. She leaves to cherish her memories, her four girls, Gwendolyn F. Rippy, Jessica A. (Timmy Lee) Rippy, Reva A. (George) Albert all of Shelbyville, TN and Margaret B. (Eddie) Holton of Memphis, TN; five grandchildren, Barry, Corey, Marcus (Angela), Jamison all of Shelbyville, TN, and Megan (Tyrone) Smith of Antioch, TN; nine great grandchildren; one sister Lettie R. Garner; sisters-in-law Mary Ewing, Vera Perry and Eloise Crawford; brothers-in-law Melvin L., Joe Thomas and Charles Peacock; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives; good friend Margret Stewart and Ruth Owens. She was loved by everyone who knew her. She retired but never stop working until her health failed her.
