Mrs. Mary Etta Cason, 75, was born January 13, 1947, in Hooker, GA to the late Mr. Richard Davis and the late Mrs. Henrietta Davis-Miller. She departed this life on Sunday morning, March 13, 2022, after an extended illness. Mary accepted Christ at an early age at Brandon View Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. John Brown at the time.

She was previously a member of Cherry Grove Missionary Baptist Church of Murfreesboro, TN and was appointed to the Deaconess/Motherboard in January 2016, under the former Pastor Rev. James C. Ward, an honor she cherished dearly. Mary had planned to reconnect with the church prior to the pandemic and other failing health issues.

She attended Holloway High School and later received her G.E.D., August 17, 1978 from the state of Arkansas. Mary was employed by Miller-Hess department store, Chattanooga, TN, as a department manager of the men’s department. She found her true calling in life for 9 years until health issues struck. She relocated back to Murfreesboro, TN in July 1991. Mary was united in Holy Matrimony to Miles Steels Cason on June 19, 2004 where 2 hearts would become ONE for 17 years.

She was once a member of the Consortium group in which she was so elated to meet with Dr. Bobby Jones. The two established a wonderful rapport and it was noted at several social functions in Murfreesboro, TN and Nashville, TN. Mary enjoyed bible readings, Law & Order episodes, crossword puzzles and current news events.

Mary was preceded in death by her daughter, Lil Faye Barbara Ann Foy; three sisters, Kathy Akins, Nancy McClendon and Marsha “Naomi” Wilson; one brother, Marshall “MD” Davis.
