Mrs. Margaret Rodgers Harris, (73) of Shelbyville, passed away Friday, September 23, 2016 at Life Care Center in Tullahoma, Tennessee.

Mrs. Margaret was a native of Bedford County, Tennessee and the daughter of the late Della C. Dobbins and Haggard Neil Johnson.

She was a long time “kitchen beautician,” washing, pressing and styling hair.  Margaret received her high school diploma in 1978, and furthered her education whereby she attended the Tullahoma Beauty School and received her license as a certified beautician.  She was devoted to her customers and fixed hair for over 30 years until her health failed her.

Mrs. Margaret was a faithful member of Whosoeverwill Let Him Come Pentecostal Church, where she served diligently as the church secretary.  She later moved her membership to Thompson Grove Baptist Church, and was a faithful and devoted member until her death.

Margaret was preceded in death by her loving husband, Reverend George Harris who passed away after her on Monday, September 26, 2016; two daughters, Jacqueline Martin and Cheryl Denita Wilson; two sisters, Bobbie and Barbara; and three brothers, Haggard, Eugene and Sonny.

Margaret leaves to cherish her loving memories to a loving and devoted daughter, Vanessa (Ricky) Hord; two stepdaughters, Phyllis (Walter) Rankins and Viola (Darren) Baugh; eight grandchildren, Kerrenako, Justin, Chazz, Tia (Alvin), Amesha, Da’Niya, Jonathan and Tyrell Johnson; four great grandchildren; five sisters, Evelyn, Lucille, Helen, Dorothy and Sybil; three brothers, Parker, Charles and Albert; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; a very special loving and devoted cousin, Shelia (John) Batts; and a very special, loving and devoted friend Pauline (mama) Crick.
