It all began on September 22, 1925 when Louiza Johnson was born to the late Wash and Julia Johnson. Louiza, who was affectionately called Mother by those who knew and loved her, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at the age of 93.

Mother gave her life to the Lord Jesus at an early age.  She later united with Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church where she served faithfully in many capacities including Pastor’s Aide Treasurer and Usher board member. She was a dedicated member of the Mother Board at Antioch Primitive Baptist Church, under the covering of Elder B.L. Russell until her illness.

As our matriarch, Mother bestowed unconditional love on our family in many ways, but especially through cooking delicious meals.  She was a great Southern cook and known for her delicious homemade caramel cakes.  She fostered family togetherness and hosted Monday night dinner at her home each week for family and friends.

Mother was a talented Upholsterer and Drapery Seamstress. She was an avid collector of dolls and one of her favorite past times was yard sale shopping.

Mother’s life work was taking care of her family. She was a hard worker who lived a full meaningful life of sacrifice, giving and serving others and would extend a helping hand to those in need. She loved children and was a doting grandmother and natural caregiver who led by beautiful example and selflessly cared for her mother Julia Johnson for many years.

Although Mother had a quiet humble nature, she was strong and the rock of our family.  She worked tirelessly taking care of everyone she loved, and she can now take her well-deserved rest.

She was preceded in eternal life by her parents; sisters, Willie, Anna, Tennie, Bertha and Elmira; brothers, Desimo, George, Thomas, James, Issac and Robert Johnson; a loving daughter, Addie Miller; and devoted son-in-law, Bobby Miller.

Mother leaves to celebrate her life, her daughters, Ruby Akridge, Mai Miller, Shirley Mack (Samuel), Linda Johnson and Edith Uzoho; her son, Ernest Johnson; and son-in-law, George Miller. She also leaves to celebrate her life, 16 grandchildren, Valerie Richardson (Gerald), Kimberly Fletcher, Kerry Fletcher, Cynthia Allen (Ronald), Tony Bass, Tiffany Akridge (Joseph), Tamica Garner (Damone), Christopher Vaughter, Kennedy Johnson, Chidy Johnson (Malay), Kamille Henry (Terry), Chanta Harlan (Damion), Yvonne Watson (Tyree), Azikiwe Uzoho, DeAndrea Mack and Jordan Johnson; 20 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; devoted nieces, Bertha Brown and Barbara Batey; beloved sisters-in-law, Maggie Johnson and Mildred Johnson; beloved family friends, Darlene Wright, Linda Wade and Rodrick Bingham; and a host of other family & friends.
