Lisa Renee’ Hicks Majors was born April 18, 1960 in Murfreesboro, TN to the late Joe and Sallie Hicks.  She departed this life on August 4, 2017.

She attended Rutherford City Schools and continued her education at Missouri state University on a basketball scholarship.

Lisa professed Christ at an early age at Lillard Chapel United Methodist Church and sang in the church choir.  She also sang with Faith Community Singers and then moved her membership to Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, but never forgot her home church.

Lisa was a volunteer basketball coach with Smyrna Recreation League for over 10 years giving all girls her tutelage in the art of basketball.  Let her tell it, they were her girls because she didn’t have any.  She was a substitute teacher in the Rutherford County School System.  She also worked at Whirlpool in LaVergne for 20 plus years, then she went on to work with Calsonic in the Nissan Plant.

She was a seven-year breast cancer survivor where she participated in the cancer walks every year.  Her hobbies include camping, singing, dancing, motorcycle riding and all-time favorite, shopping with her sisters.

Lisa leaves to cherish her memories, two sons, Michael Rayshann (Dagna) Hicks of Poland and Erickson Jamal (Alexandria) Majors of Murfreesboro, TN; two grandchildren, Michael Rayshann (Mikey) Hicks, Jr. and Maliya Renee’ Hicks, both of Poland; two sisters, JoAnne (Gleen) McKnight and Mitzi Hicks; two brothers, Timothy (Sharon) Hicks and Joseph Michael (Tamika) Hicks; a host of aunts and uncles, very special nieces, nephews, cousins and many many co-workers and friends.
