For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:   II Timothy 4:6-7

Linda Sue “Mama House” Carney reached out and touched the face of God on March 5, 2019. She was the next to the last of 10 children; born to the late Elizabeth Smith and Reverend Jessie J. Chesterfield. She was born in Murfreesboro, TN where she attended Central High School. Linda was a loving and beautiful person with a contagious smile and loved to speak and sing about the Lord.

She was a woman of God who was a member of Faith Chapel Original Church of God under the leadership of the late Elder Dallas Green, the late Dr. Linda Kennedy, and now Pastor Monique Tillage-Malone. Linda attended her church faithfully and she also sung in the choir until she was physically unable to do so. She had a heart of gold and would give you her last. She always loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and her sisters every chance she could!

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Elizabeth Chesterfield; sisters, Mary Alice King and Emma Dora Wilson; and brothers, Watt Chesterfield, Jim Chesterfield and Gabe Lee Chesterfield.

Linda leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Frances (Troy Holmes) Chesterfield, Darlene (Norman Smelley) Chesterfield and Cynthia (John) Anderson; sisters, Sally Ann Marable and Emma Lou Frazier; brother, Thomas Chesterfield; grandchildren, Shaterria (Brian Robinson) Bates, Tariq Davis, Darion Smelley, Traleicia Holmes, Ajah Smelley, Taliyah Holmes and Karri Anderson; great grandchild, Braelynn Robinson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
