Gladys Wilkerson Malone was born on July 22, 1944.  She entered peacefully into rest at St. Thomas Hospital, Murfreesboro, on January 26, 2017.

She was born the third child to the late Jim Haley and Mary Ella Malone.  She was educated in the Rutherford City School System.

Gladys professed and accepted Christ at an early age at Hickory Grove Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Charlie Hope.  She was a Mother on the Mother Board. She retired from Mayfield Rehab Center. She loved fishing, cooking and caring for children.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Lee Wilkerson; one brother, Jim Haley Malone, Jr.; and one sister, Gracie Mai Sanders.

Gladys leaves to cherish her memory, three sons, Randall (Mitzi) Malone, Theo Starks and Rachie Wilkerson; four grandchildren, Randall (Stephanie) Malone, Jr., Paige (Kecee) Malone, Ra’mareia and Amarionna; six great grandchildren, Amyiah, Alayla, Kortez, Queen, Keeley and Kash; aunts, Evelyn Walton and Anna Mae Gregory; six sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; four nieces; five nephews; a devoted niece Gloria Sanders; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. A mother’s hand in the care of Tiffany McCord, E.J. Majors, Jarvis Hicks, Rickee Roper and Tamosa Wilkerson
