Debra Jean Thornton, known as Mrs. Deb, Mom Dukes, or Tuesday in her younger days, was born to George and Ruby Reynolds on August 1, 1956, in Norristown, PA.

Debbie accepted Christ at an early age. She was a member of Siloam Baptist Church in Norristown, PA. She loved the Lord and loved to teach bible studies. She walked and lived by her faith until the day she was called home to heaven’s gates.

Debbie, affectionately known as Mrs. Deb or Aunt Debbie believed in family and spreading love to all that knocked on her door.  You often heard many wise tale stories that would help guide the youth through decisions in life. She was not only a mother to her children, but to many around the neighborhood.  You knew if you knocked on Mrs. Deb’s door you had a meal and a couch to sleep on. She did not believe in leaving anyone in the cold.

Debbie grew a passion for doing hair.  She was determined to put herself through cosmetology school by working at Montgomery Hospital. Later ventured out of the workplace to be a full-time cosmetologist at Ken Do’s Unisex Hair Shop.  Debbie later opened her own shop known as Ms. Debz.

Debra Thornton received her wings on Friday December 30th, 2022, at the age of 66 years young. She was proceeded in death by her father and mother George and Ruby Reynolds, her sister Vertie Reynolds, and two brothers James and Roy Reynolds.

Debbie leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Hugh Herschell Thornton Sr; five sons Tomak Johnson, Chuck Johnson, Vernon Tubbs, Vincent Tubbs, and Herschel Jr (Laura); two daughters LaToscha Jones and LaTrisha Worthy.  Two sisters Carolyn Reynolds and Margaret Reynolds Gaudin; three brothers Robert Tinsley, Dennis Reynolds, and George Reynolds Jr. Sixteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, close relatives, and friends.
