Betty J. Collier was born April 12, 1936 to the late George Washington and Aline Mayes. She departed this life on Tuesday, October 29, 2019.

Betty accepted Christ when she was very young and served faithfully at the Sand Hill Church of Christ until her health begin to fail.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Collier; son, Joseph Collier; four sisters, Peggy Gooch, Elnora Alexander, Margaret Spice and Jenny Groomster; two brothers, George and James Mayes.

Betty was united with George in marriage on October 26, 1957 and from this union eight children were born: George (Mary), Roberta, Larry, Lance, Joseph (Janice), Eli, Stacey (Bruce) and Tracy (Karen). She also leaves to cherish her memories; one brother, Edward Mayes; one sister, Sara Gooch; two sisters in law, Annie Bass and Joyce Christmon; along with a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
