Barbara Ann Christmon was born May 13, 1951 and departed this earthly life on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Trevecca Center for Rehabilitation and Healing.
Barbara was the 1st child to the late Willie Dee & Azzie Lee Christmon. She was born in Murfreesboro, Tennessee and later educated in the Metropolitan Nashville School District and attended Cameron High School. She accepted Christ in her life at an early age and was raised up and learned about our Lord and Savior at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Lascassas, TN. As a child she enjoyed hanging around the Bethel Church family singing in the choir and participating in various church auxiliaries. Barbara was a dedicated member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church then later moved to Greater Faith Missionary Baptist Church. She faithfully attended church and always sang in the choir until her health prevented her from doing so.
She always enjoyed singing in the church choir, cooking, and spending time with her family — especially her grandchildren! She was a member of the Red Hat Social Club “Southside Divas” and honorary member of the Midtown Socialites.
Barbara leaves to cherish her memory, two sisters, Hattie (Samuel) Esmond and Teresa Talley; one brother Kim (Kandi) Marthel; three children, Jarrod Christmon, Stacey (Cynthia) Christmon and Lakesha Christmon; eight grandchildren, JarQuetta, Shante, Christopher, Deionna, Kristopher, Jordan, Macey and Kayden; two great grandchildren, Zaharion and Zariah, devoted nephew, Christopher Christmon; devoted nieces, Kimberly & Destiny Marthel; devoted aunt, Etta Collier; devoted cousin, Robert (Peggy) Swinger; as well as a host of other relatives and special friends including the Cameron High School Class of 1969, Gloria Bell, Bryson Evans, Sandra Tillman and Tony Ridley.
