Tommy H. Vaughter made his grand entrance into this world on November 06, 1929, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, to William and Mary Smith Vaughter. “Sarge” departed this life Sunday, November 05, 2023, at Tennessee Veteran Home.

He graduated from Hollway High School. Tommy accepted Christ at an early age and joined Stones River United Methodist Church. He was in the United States Air Force for over twenty years and after retirement, work for Ford Motor Company.

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents and eight sisters, Jenny Vaughter, Willie Vaughter, Marie Anderson, Mary Turrentine, Annie Garrett, Anna Doss, Alice Woodruff and Mamie Dixon.

Tommy will always be celebrated, remembered and is survived by his son, Walshaude Vaughter; sister, Doris Holmes of Memphis, Tennessee; brother, George (Shannon) Vaughter; life-long friends, Mr. Frank Beard and Mrs. Edith Beard and Ms. Lavetta Hancock all of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; and countless nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
