Bro. Samuel Hasting was born to the late Robert Hasting, Sr. and Mamie Hasting on March 25, 1947. He concluded his earthly life on June 16, 2015 at his residence.

He received his education at Wilson County High School. He professed a hope in Christ and became a faithful member of Market Street Church of Christ where he served faithfully until his health failed. He worked and retired from TRW Automotive after 41 years of service. Sam had one team that he always followed, Florida State Football, as he would travel every year to go see them play. He also enjoyed watching baseball and going fishing. He would go to his favorite place to eat every chance he got, Waffle House.

Sam leaves to cherish his memory, a loving and devoted wife, Johnnie Hasting; five children, Carol Philllips, Marc (Debra) Hasting, Demond (Pamela) Stone, Corey Dowell and Jason Hasting; fifteen grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren; one brother, Walter (Cleo) Hasting; one sister, Avis Seay; two brothers-in-law, William (Rita) Jennings and Joseph (Connie) Jennings; one sister-in-law, Juanita Johnson; devoted friends, Charlie B. Shannon and Garland Allen; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Sam was preceded in death by his mother and father, four brothers, three sisters and one son.
