Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff comfort me.

Ronnie was in a wheelchair for the last eight years. He never lost his faith or his love for the Lord. He woke every morning, never afraid and lived that day as if he was going to see God face to face before the day was over. Ronnie knew the Lord was his Shepherd, his Protector and Comforter and that he would someday dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

On August 23, 2019, God kept his promise and delivered him from all his pain and suffering at Perry County Nursing in Linden, Tennessee.

Today, we are going to CELEBRATE HIS LIFE.

Ronnie was born 1958 to the late Will A and Audie Lee Greer Porter. He was the youngest of 13 Children (Our Baby) and he always reminded us of that. He attended and graduated from Shelbyville Central.

You will never see any buildings named after Ronnie or his name on any walks of fame. His good name came from his friendly smile, warm greetings, sense of humor, kind deeds and a will to help others. Ronnie loved helping people. He easily built rapport with people of all walks of life.

Ronnie always attended church with his family at East Cedar Street Church of Christ later becoming Bird Street Church of Christ. He served the church in the transportation ministry, driving the van on Sunday morning, evening, Wednesday Evening, Vacation Bible School, fellowship with other areas Churches of Christ, picnics, taking seniors to Doctor appointments, pay bills, groceries, etc.

Ronnie enjoyed his work, but had to give it up, because of health issues. He was very disappointed but understood Safety first. He was employed at the Horse Show Organization for over 35 years and was a hard worker. In his heart he was an Entrepreneur. He had a very successful Lawn Care Service, which he took great pride. He sold used lawn mower parts, used car parts, restored old cars, trucks and would sell them. Anything you needed Ronnie had. Most of you all know that Ronnie Porter Enterprise Inc. was in his father’s backyard!

Ronnie was preceded in death by brothers, Charles Edwards, Billy, James and Maurice; and sisters, Carolyn and Martha rose.

Ronnie was so loved by his family and he will never ever be forgotten. He will be greatly missed by brothers, Roger and Larry Porter; sisters, Marcia Porter, Joann Pitts, Shelia (Thomas) Bolejack and Robbie (Allen) Nelson; uncle, Joseph Greer; aunts, Julia Porter and Louise Jennings; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and the Bird Street Church of Christ Family. He loved his Church.
