Mr. Ricky O’Neal Dunnaway was born September 16, 1969 to the late Sallie Bell Malone Dunnaway and the late William Hollis Dunnaway Sr. Ricky departed this life on March 2, 2020 at his home in the midst of his devoted sister and friend.

Ricky Dunnaway professed his hope in Christ at an early age, becoming a member of Smyrna Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor J.W. Rankins. Ricky was employed at Trinidad Benham in La Vergne for approximately 23 years or more. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, three brothers; grandparents, Elizabeth and Paul Malone, Myra and William Thomas Dunnaway; stepmom, Bessie Dunnaway; one niece, one great niece, one great nephew, one aunt, Mary Ruth Patterson.

Ricky was the President of his singing group the New Traveling Stars from Murfreesboro, Shelbyville and Manchester, TN.

He leaves to cherish his memories, one son, Ricky Dunnaway; one step son, Shawn Sales; one devoted sister, Miranda Dunnaway-Hailey; seven nieces, two nephews, twelve great nieces, four great nephews, one great great aunt Bessie Mae Smith, along with a host of cousins, friends and family. Devoted friends, Mary Grace, Imosa Tidwell, Carlene Fields, Polly Johnson, Amelia Griswald and Carolyn Dunnaway.

Special thanks to the Alive Hospice Team, Dr. Kristal Reed, Oncology of Murfreesboro and a very special thanks to Mrs. Linda McCroskey for being there for Ricky and taking him to Doctor’s appointments and God Mother and Loving him.
