Mr. Oatis Green, Jr. also affectionately known as “Bubba” “Bubber” was born in Murfreesboro, Tennessee to the late Oatis Green, Sr. and Evelyn Anderson Wade. Our Heavenly Father shared Oatis with us on August 24, 1958. After 55 years, God fulfilled his gentle transition back home on May 1, 2014. As a young boy, Oatis professed a strong faith in Jesus, the Christ, as his Lord and Savior. As an adult, Oatis was baptized at the Priest Lake Community Baptist Church in Antioch, Tennessee. Oatis was educated through the Rutherford County School system and is a graduate of Riverdale High School class of 1976. After high school, Oatis joined the United States Army, served and received an honorable discharge.

As a youngster, Oatis had a fascination with trucks and fulfilled this passion by obtaining his CDL License. He was employed by Frontier Express Trucking, of Denver, Colorado, driving refrigerated tractor trailers. Oatis considered Denver, Colorado his second home and his driving route often brought him through Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He would pull up in front of our homes and blow his horn, really loud, and make us laugh. Oatis had an awesome, infectious personality along with being such a gentle soul. He always had a calm disposition. Preceded in death by his mother Evelyn Anderson Wade; father Oatis Green, Sr.; brothers Kenneth Lawrence Green, Tracey Lynn Spivey and Wandell Ray Spivey; aunts Mary Bell Reid, Maggie Pleasant and Sallie Mai Hicks; uncles Thomas H. “Sonny” Anderson, William Burton Anderson, Jr.; William, Walter and Burton Anderson; nephew Taurus Spivey; nieces Damaya and Daliyah Beasley.
