On May 23, 1948, I was born to the late Lomie and Laura Lee Turner in Duncan, MS. They named me Levi Turner. Some may know me as Levi (IT) Turner. I was the eighth child of ten children, the third youngest of six boys and four sisters: Rebecca Keller, Carrie Turner, Lonnie Turner, Lawrence Turner, and Roosevelt Turner. All of them died except for my sisters Nancy Scott and Mildred (JC) Lurry and my brothers Andrew Turner and Charles (Sandra) Turner. I received my education in MS, but I found my passion and purpose, which was Growth. They used to say, “you don’t work, you don’t eat.” Oh boy, I love to eat, so I learned to plant and grew gardens which increased my cooking skills. Another way that I would make good use of my time was spent playing cards and watching sports which. I was a good softball player back in the day.

I married Cassandra Beasley in Nashville, TN. We enjoyed each other’s time, and people watched as we sipped on our coffee and watched television all day long. I had a daughter Lura Lee Fields who lives in Murfreesboro, TN. I had one granddaughter who received her wings, Tonya Nicole Moore, and I loved tickling her feet to get her big smile. I joined The Longview Heights SDA under the leadership of Pastor James Owens.

To my devoted caregiver and friends, Mr. Ollie Fisher, who made sure I was so fresh and clean, Mr. Jerome, Mr. Dave Lolita and Shernice, our bond will never be broken.

So, if y’all are reading this, that means I went home, so don’t worry about me. I can finally see my Master’s face for myself. Where there is no more pain or suffering because I am free. Free At Last, Thank God I’M FREE AT LAST. I’m just another soldier who’s gone home to be with my Lord Jesus, who came and got me to go home with Him on December 19, 2022, at the ripe old age of 74.
