Mr. Leonard Essie Rucker, Jr. was born in Rutherford County on August 18, 1918 to the late Jessie Lee Rucker and Leonard Rucker, Sr. He departed this life on May 9, 2014 at Glen Oaks Health and Rehabilitation in Shelbyville, Tennessee. He was educated in the Bedford County school system up to the 5th grade.

Mr. Leonard was the second child in the family of eight. He had four brothers and one sister that preceded him in death; Elbert, Ralph, Ellis, Sylvester and Isabel.

He was a very loving uncle and brother. He leaves behind a devoted niece, Sylver Mullins of Shelbyville, TN; one brother, McClain (Tennie Mae) Rucker of Unionville, TN; one sister, Marie Lynch of Youngstown, OH; one aunt, Kelly McClain of Murfreesboro, TN; one brother-in-law, Marvin Boswell of Columbus, OH; two sisters-in-law, Mary Rucker of Nashville, TN and Vinnie Rucker of Bell Buckle, TN; and a host of nieces, great nieces, great-great nieces, nephews, great nephews, great-great nephews, close cousins, other relatives and many many close and devoted friends and neighbors.
