Joe B. Russell, Jr., was born July 17, 1978 to Joe B. Russell, Sr., and Gloria Jean Cheers Russell. On April 1, 2022 Joe Jr., transitioned from earthly life to his heavenly home.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Gloria Jean Cheers Russell; grandfather, James Cheers, Sr.; grandmother, Lucille Cheers; grandfather, Joe “Baby” Thompson and grandmother, Patsy Mae McClain.

Joe Jr., “Bumpkin” as he was known by his close family and friends was educated in the Rutherford County School system. He attended Oakland High School, where he developed many lifelong friendships. He had an infectious sense of humor and carried a natural light that radiated around him. He enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends, cheering on the Tennessee Titans, barbecuing or in the kitchen cooking his specialty dishes. His presence will be missed by many in the community.

Joe Jr. leaves to cherish his memory, daughters, Joree’ Russell and Joleayah Bri’Lynn; father, Joe B. Russell, Sr.; sisters, LaTasha Russell, Chiquita Thomas and LaQuita McKinney; nephews, Jonathon Russell, Joey Russell, David Thomas, Trey Thomas and Orion McKinney; niece, Ember McKinney. He also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
