George Marion Greer was born June 28, 1953 to the late R.G. and Josephine Greer.  He was also preceded in death by his brother Leo E. Long, Jr. and sister Jeanetta Moore.

George was baptized into Christ at an early age and was a member of the Bird St Church of Christ.  With a passion for singing, George was well known throughout the Churches of Christ.

George will be forever remembered when you hear the song, “Mansion, Robe and Crown,” that became his signature song.

In the early morning hours at Vanderbilt University Hospital on January 1, 2017, George went to receive his Mansion, Robe and Crown.

He will be truly missed by all who knew him.

George will be remembered in the hearts of many including nieces, Naima Teresa Major of Atlanta, GA and Stephanie Robinson of Lewisburg, TN; nephew, Ronald C. Gentry of Chicago, IL; and great nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
