Mr. George Clarence Pickney, III, 56, of Chicago, Illinois & Shelbyville, Tennessee, departed this earthly life to eternity on January 18, 2018 at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Per the family’s request Mr. Pickney was cremated.

George was a native of Chicago but loved southern living. George served as an altar boy at Holy Cross Catholic School until transferring and graduating from Hyde Park High School in Chicago, Illinois.  Before his health declined, Peanut was an avid truck driver and back alley auto mechanic.

He was the son of the late George C. and Velma (Stackhouse) Pickney, II. George was also preceded in death by his brother, Earl Trice and best friend/father-in-law Mr. Robert O. Leslie.

George leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Rose M. Leslie; his children, George C. Pickney, IV, Tymekey’a D. Pickney of Shelbyville, Tennessee and Teaquicia L. Ward of Bolingbrook, Illinois; mother-in-law, Odessa Leslie of Shelbyville, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Vivon and Teakierah Ward of Bolingbrook, Illinois, Aiden and Amarie Overcast and Jayden Comer of Shelbyville, Tennessee, brother, Steve Trice of Chicago Illinois; special friends, Jeanetta (JJ) Woodruff, Clinton & JT Cunningham, Rodney the mechanic, Greg Washington, Arthur Trollinger, Jack, Debra, Emily and Kevin Taylor; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.
