David Lee Brown aka Sweet was born November 20, 1949 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee to the late Harry Brown and Betty Mae Harris. He made his heavenly transition on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Saint Thomas Hospital West. He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Brown, brothers Eddie James and Jimmy Brown and sister Sarah Bell.

David accepted Christ at an early age at Silver Springs Missionary Baptist Church under Reverend McKinely. David was educated in the Rutherford County School Systems. David was employed as a master mason. His brick work and mailboxes can be seen all over Middle Tennessee. Once people saw his work they wanted him to work on their projects. All who really knew David knew him as “Sweet”. Sweet enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. When you saw him he always had a smile on his face, a laugh in his spirit, his truck and his spirits. His two favorite words were like and love. He liked being around all his friends or “his dogs”. He loved his family and loved to be loved by them.

David is survived by his mother Betty Mae Brown; daughter Davita (Chris) Taylor; sons, DJ and Rontae; brothers, Jerry (Dorothy) Brown and Richard Brown; sisters, Lucy (Eddie, deceased) Norman and Shirley (Jesse, Jr.) Elder; David was blessed with 11 grandchildren, 2 god-children, a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
