God called his name and said it’s time for his good and faithful servant to come home.

Claude W. Duke departed this life peacefully from this earthy life on September 8, 2015, at 12:15 a.m. at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro, TN.

Claude was born February 27, 1934 to the late Johnnie and Lena Duke in Maury County TN. He was the 5th child of eight born to this union.

He was preceded in death by four siblings, Lena Mae Hatton, William (Tism) Duke, John (Brut) Duke Jr., Sara Bell Primm and one grandchild, DeJuan Lamel Duke.

Claude attended school in Maury County.

He married Nora Sue Himes on July 17, 1954, and to this union three children were born. He was a devoted husband, a loving dad, grandfather and great grandfather.

He began his Christian journey at the Second Avenue Church of Christ in Lewisburg, TN where he obeyed the gospel in 1956. He served as Deacon, Treasurer and Sunday School Teacher. He later moved to Murfreesboro, TN where he attended State Street Church of Christ, which is now Bradyville Road Church of Christ. He also served as Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Claude worked as a Dairy Farmer for 27 years. He worked at Murfreesboro Housing Authority for 20 years in Maintenance and was later promoted to Supervisor.

He had a gentle spirit, he was humble hearted and he loved unconditionally. He loved God and the Church and was a faithful member. To know him was to love him, he was truly a gift from God.
