Linda Elizabeth Wade beloved Mother, Sister, Aunt and Grandmother affectionally known as “Granny” passed away peacefully at home on Monday, August 18, 2025 at the age of 85.
Linda’s life journey brought her from Islington, Jamaica to Murfreesboro Tennessee in 1963. Linda was known for her boundless kindness, unwavering faith in GOD, and her infectious laugh. She dedicated her life to creating a loving home and cherished spending time with her family, friends and church congregation. Linda will always be remembered for her delicious cooking. Her signature dishes were her chicken wings, oxtails, rice and peas, pot roast and banana pudding. She loved gardening and football. She often told stories of how she loved to walk to Robin’s Bay in Jamaica to go swimming with her friends as a young girl. Although she always called Jamaica home, she became an American citizen, loved America and was so proud of her favorite President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama. Linda was an active and faithful member of the Bradyville Road Church of Christ where she served faithfully for over 50 years and was a foundational presence within her church community.
Linda was a hard worker and after her husband’s death she took great pride in providing for her family. She was employed at Samsonite Furniture Company for over 30 years until 1997. She then worked at Asurion until she retired.
