John D. Lyons, Sr. was a lifelong welder and resident of Nashville, Tennessee, lost his battle Sunday, August 31, 2025.
John D. Lyons, Sr. was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Lee Clark Lyons and James Walden Lyons, Sr.; four brothers, John Thomas Lyons, James Walden Lyons, Jr., Ernest Ray Lyons, Sr. and Morris Lee Lyons; two sisters, Lizzie Mae McKnight and Birtha Mae Lyons; and grandson, Zaire Lyons.
John D. Lyons, Sr. attended primary school at Harris Middle School and attended Bell Buckle High School. He then join the Job Corp where he graduated as a certified welder. John was employed by Coins Metalist Recycling Company for over 30 years where he retired.
John D. Lyons, Sr. was a very devoted father to his only son, John D. Lyons, Jr. John D. Lyons, Sr.’s favorite past time was skating and playing in the band with lifelong friend, Casey Clark, who preceded him in death. He played the drums, a little keyboard and even tried his hand at singing as well. He was the comedian and dancer of the family.
John D. Lyons, Sr. leaves to mourn his only son, John D. (Alexandria) Lyons, Jr.; three grandchildren, King Chancelor Burwell, Kahaza Alexander Lyons and Kaia Emma-Grace Lyons; a devoted brother George Washington Lyons; a very devoted sister, Lula Faye Lyons; three devoted nieces, Kristy Gregory, Tonya Bolton and Yolette Taylor; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews, great great great nieces and nephews and a host of friends and family.
