A beautiful light was shockingly and tragically dimmed with the passing of Jaela Mintz on June 25, 2026. Jaela was born to Joseph Mintz and Tracy Mintz in Louisville, Kentucky on September 27, 1993. Jaela was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother–Frances Gordon Alexander and her paternal grandfather–Hoyt Mintz.

Jaela is survived by her loving husband–Xavier Harris, and her cherished children–Elijah, Mylah, and Mariah Harris. She is also survived by her devoted parents–Joe and Tracy Mintz, her paternal grandmother–Leola Mangrum, her loving sisters–Sasha Wilkinson (Max) and Kendra Mintz (Mickey), her twin brother–Darien Mintz, her nephews–Caden and Michael, her uncles–James Mintz (Annette), Earl Mintz, Arvid Pierre Hall and Jason Mintz, her aunts–Valerie Mintz, Sandra Mintz and Elisa Mintz her great aunts–Wilma Bolt (Walter) and Annduke Pleasant (Melvin), her great uncle–Lamont Perry (Yolanda), her great-great aunt–Elizabeth Clanton, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Jaela accepted God as her Lord and savior early in life and led a life that embodied her incredible gift of accepting and loving people and expressing her deep compassion for one and all. Jaela was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished daughter, beloved sister, and loyal friend. Her kindness and unwavering love touched everyone fortunate enough to know her!

Of all the roles she held in life, being a mother was the one she treasured most of all. Her greatest joy was loving and caring for their three beautiful children. Together, with her husband, she chose to step away from her career after earning her bachelor's degree to devote herself fully to raising the family she loved so deeply.

In bringing new life into the world, Jaela demonstrated the deepest expression of a mother's love. Though her own journey ended far too soon, the precious daughter she welcomed on the day of her passing stands as a living testament of her strength, courage, unselfishness, and unwavering love.
