Frederica Marie Hendricks Noble died on December 13, 2022 in Bath, England.

Freda was born on December 24, 1965, in Detroit, Michigan to Frederick Morrison and Mai Dee (Holland) Hendricks a native of Shelbyville, Tennessee.

She grew up in Detroit and Pontiac, Michigan and graduated high school in 1984 from Sacred Heart Academy in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.

Frederica attended Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York where she earned a B.A. in Psychology in 1988.

After two years working as an admissions officer at Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania, Frederica enrolled in the PhD program in Counseling Psychology at the University of Missouri -Columbia where she received her doctoral degree in 1996.

Her first faculty position was at Austin Peay State University in Tennessee.  She later was employed at Loyola Marymount University (CA), University of the West of England, and the University of Cincinnati. She then spent 14 years as a faculty member and administrator for Walden University Online, headquartered in Minnesota.

Frederica married Richard Noble on June 24, 2004, and split her time between the U.S. and the U.K.  living in first London, and then moving to Frome/Somerset, England.   While in the U.S. she lived in Cincinnati, OH and Shelbyville/Bell Buckle TN.  Having spent most of her childhood summers living with grandparents in Tennessee, she fondly called Shelbyville/Bell Buckle, TN her peaceful place and returned there every summer.

Frederica was initiated into Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Pi Nu Omega Chapter, Murfreesboro, TN in 2009 where she was lovingly referred to as “Pearl #3) by her sorority sisters.  She remained an active member of Pi Nu Omega until her move to England.

Frederica is survived by her husband Richard, son Jackson Frederick, step-daughters JoAnne (Chris) Fieldhouse and Zoe (Sam) Pelling, sister Ivy (Charlie) Nilon, niece Loren Marie (Richard) Prince and their children Richard and Madison Ivy, and her aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins.

Frederica is fondly remembered by longtime family friend Deirdre Waterman; her childhood friends Emily Wagner and Anne Fitzgerald, Vassar College friends Maxine D’Hati and Lisa Swift; close friends Jamie and Anna Maria Bellatin, Florence and Antionette Guido, Gloria Thomas, Kieron Bone Dormegnie, Candice McField. Basil Etefia, Aundrea Harris, and many more friends and students whom she inspired.
