Ebony was born to her biological father, Edward Covington and raised by her mother and father, Thomas and Sarah McCord. She graduated from SCH High School. She left us on November 25, 2025, and went to become an angel where she doesn’t have to suffer no more.

Ebony enjoyed cooking, cleaning and speaking her mind. She enjoyed her grandson Ziaire and was awaiting the arrival of her second grandson, Mylan. Ebony’s favorite color was purple, just like her aunt Judy whom she loved just as her mother. She also had a favorite word, Honey.

Ebony loved her sister Mildred so much and she fussed about her all the time because she loved her. Her brother-in-law, Harold, was always there on call for her and us as well as his wife Tammie, her sister. She told Harold, “I want a homemade burger and Tammie to peel her some potatoes and make her some home fries” (and just smiled). She called Mildred, Sarah, and Sarah, Mildred and would call Monyia, Mildred. She always smiled when she saw Ziaire on the phone calling him butt-butt.

Amy was her right arm at all times. Monyia was her trouble starter. Angel was her smart mouth. Thomas was her best dad and teacher. But Sarah is the Miss-know-everything (smile). Moma thinks she knows everything. All her nieces were just to grown: Trinity was her girl, this and that about Mildred was always doing something.

She proceeds to be with her twins, Miricall and Faith Covington; and two brothers, Joshua L. Covington and Rodriquez S. Covington.

Ebony leaves here her three daughters, Monyia D’ Boykin, Angel Boykin and Amy O’ Covington; devoted father of her children, Keith L. Boykin; sisters, Mildred S. Covington, Tammie (Harold), Leactrice Thompson, Nata Jean Covington and April; brothers, Tim Covington, JauQuis Schaffer, Thomas Johnson and Timothy Johnson; nieces, Meriah Bailey, Destiny and Aaliyah Kearns, Brionna McCord and Emma Covington; nephews Tyree Johnson and T. Johnson; a host of nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles, Juliett and Mike, Shelia and Eric, Jackie, Benson, Venessa and Tony Holman, Lisa and Vince Tony, Linda Benson, Karina and Terry Sims, Herman Sims, Brenda Covington, Annie Ruth Covington, Brenda and Porter Castleman, Carolyn McCord, Berry and Will Hiaslip, Delois Snips, Delois Covington, Sammy McCord, Donald and Anett McCord, James McCord, Willie and Verde McCord, Katie Miller, Jerry and Shawanda McCord, Christine Simes, Tennie McClain, Arbra Sims, Fredia and Rickey Harvey, James and Denise Smith; devoted cousins and friends, Linda McCord, Rodney Thompson, Tony and Tabitha Brown, Bobby Merrell, Jimmy Merrell, Tasha Merrell, Marcus Merrell, Quitin and Erica Perkins, Jasper and Isreal Wilson, TIffany Bowner, Takila Lesile, Tabitha Smith, Shante Latisha and Jalessa Henderson.
